Wyatts surgery lasted about 3 hours last night. They found his intestine was blocked at the scar tissue from prior surgery. The bowel was too swollen to reattach so they brought two small parts of small intestine out through his stomach to drain. So yes, you can now see them. When swelling goes down they will do another surgery to reattach intestine on the inside. We were told this would happen in 3-5 weeks. So, we will be in NICU for awhile. Today he is VERY heavily sedated with breathing tube & multiple IVs. They will be inserting a picc line later. For now he needs rest. Hopefully they will be lowering pain medication a little to see how he responds. Ron & I are on waiting list for Ronald McDonald House & will stay at the hospital until then.
