Xander was looking at one of my fishing rods, that Ive had about - TopicsExpress

Xander was looking at one of my fishing rods, that Ive had about 50 or so years. The tip of it was broken off about 50 or so years ago in Canada. We went into the wilds of Canada about 8 hours out of the Soo. Then when we got to Rocky Island Lake we still had about 2 hour boat ride to the island we camped on. I started fishing as soon as I got out of the boat along with my brother Jim. I had set my pole down for some reason and Jim had stepped on it breaking the tip of the pole off. So we did the redneck thing and cut and shaved a cedar twig and used electrical tape on it to wrap around the broken pole and the cedar twig. And now the pole is useable to this day with the tape still around it with the twig included. I use to see poles come back with the same break, nobody fixes their mistake, in stead blame it on the store.
