Glitterbeat, the label of Chris Eckman (known from The Walkabouts), focuses on music from West Africa, with an occasional trip to another region. Characteristic of the Glitterbeat releases is, in addition to the high quality, the authenticity of the musicians who are not stuck in tradition, but carry the tradition with them. Vinyl (always 180 g!) is accompanied by either a CD or a download code, and CDs are packed in beautifully designed digipaks.
