YADA Report: On October 21, we met for discussion, and Jennifer chose a Halloween-themed topic: our fears. What sort of things are we afraid of? We talked about the sudden and intense fears, such a spiders and ghosts, and about the more background fears, such as being unable to help those who depend on us. Some of us talked about recurrent nightmares and what those could say about us. Others talked about unexpected phone calls from relatives who are at risk of sudden health issues. A few of us discussed long-standing fears that our work wont amount to anything, or that well never become the people we want to be. Whether rational or not, experiencing fear is an integral part of being human. We also talked about upcoming service opportunities, such as Prepare Affair, and made plans for the murder mystery dinner that was auctioned off at Taste of St. Johns. Then we all went out for Mexican food. YADA will meet next on November 4, voting day, with Craig leading.
