YAY!!! Just saved a little bird! Went outside the office to take a phone call from my wife, & saw this sparrow on the ground nearby (in the same parking lot where Ive seen a neighborhood cat lounging, mind you). I got really close, but he didnt move... then he tried to fly a little, but got maybe 5 feet before landing again. After hanging up with Niki, I walked over and saw that he had something wrapped around his leg. Fortunately, the woman in the office next to us (who runs a massage studio) was walking in, and I asked her to get me some scissors while I cupped the little guy in my hands (he was very brave and incredibly calm). Some snips later, I also realized this thread/trash wasnt just around his leg, but also around his tailfeathers, making extended flight impossible. Did some careful unwrapping, took him back outside, opened my hands, and he flew off good as new! Hooray!
