YES! as some of you may know, ive spent a pretty significant portion of my life playing tetris, and, in particular, obsessing over a series of japanese arcade games called Tetris The Grand Master. there is a very small community of people outside of japan who even know these things exist, and a very very small number of people who are actually good at playing them. or, that was until the internet exploded with interest about it today. last night some friends of mine gave a demonstration of the game during this really cool week long charity event in Virginia, where people who are really really good at various video games livestream their performances out to myself and the 100,000 or so other people who are excitedly watching at home on their laptops. really wish i could have been there! last year they raised about $1,000,000 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation and so far this year theyre up to about $500,000 with some more days left and some more very cool runs to come. anyway, all this to say, do yourself a nerdy favor, watch Kevin play some of the best tetris ive ever seen in my life! (to put things in perspective, the best ive ever gotten in this game is a rank of MasterK with a clear time of 5 minutes and 45 seconds.) maybe also check out the livestream at gamesdonequick maybe also donate some money? if thats a thing that youre into doing? great stuff Kevin, Alex, Eric, you guys are way too cool. all of the love, -mat
