The BJP’s chief ministerial candidate spoke to PRAGYA KAUSHIKA on topics ranging from her role in the poll manifesto to the unease she has caused in Delhi BJP. What are your priorities for these elections? My themes for the election have come from within. There are my six Ps — People, Police, Politician, Prosecution, Prison and Press. And the six motos starting with an S in Hindi — Safe, Clean, Literate, Competent, Decent and Delhi for All. We will promote civil defence. Private security, which has one lakh people, will need to be in alignment with law enforcement and crime prevention. I am giving a vision. Community policing will happen. They will work with local panchs and local mahila mandal, local retired teachers and politicians. That takes care of grassroots. Policing, Delhi government and L-G’s office will be aligned. Delhi suffers when these are not aligned. MUST READ: 2015 Delhi Assembly elections: Full coverage We had a Lt-Governor’s grievance redressal system, which could be brought to the secretariat. It was done manually earlier. Now, we can have a grievance redressal number. You have water problem, electricity and road problem? Here is a grievance redressal window. It could be outsourced. Delhi should have the six S’s. Firstly, safe citizens are a priority. Second S is for Swacch, which means healthy and also non-corrupt. Dispensaries can continue till 8 pm. Schools can remain open even after 4 pm for skill development classes. These are within the terms of Delhi government. Then comes Sakhsam, competence, and Sanskari, which means you are looking to promote value-based education. Last is —Delhi belongs to all. It belongs to people from Kerala, Rajasthanis, Bihari. I am a Punjabi who came to Delhi. So what is your role in shaping the manifesto? I have to sit down with Harsh Vardhan but this does not go against my manifesto. Why would 6 Ps and 6S’s not be part of the party manifesto? What are your views on unauthorised colonies? They have already been regularised from 2014. They are not regularised yet. We have announced that they will not be demolished. But these are two different subjects, are they not? I am no longer Bedi... I am Kiran Didi. I will not let them be homeless. If they are on government land, we will rehabilitate them. My heart beats for the poor. Policing means protection of the needy, the honest and the deprived. What are your views on RSS? You just have to Google and see. BJP MPs are not happy with your sudden arrival? What do you think about infighting in BJP? Let this be answered by the party leadership. All I know is I am here because of them. Have you spoken to Anna Hazare? No, but he will bless me. Anna knows I have joined the BJP not for selfish reasons but out of dedication.
