YOUR DONATIONS HELP STRENGTHEN & EXTEND OUR WORK SUMMER has come to Extend the Dream and the Uptown Bills enterprises are taking full advantage of the nice weather. Among our plans: The Vintage Shoppe has begun a series of yard sales; the Coffee House is planning a series of outdoor movies. We hope youll come visit us for these and other events. We also hope youll support us through a donation. Your tax-deductible contribution helps strengthen our work. Because of contributions like yours, we have been able to nurture and encourage so many things, including: Hosting art classes for youth sponsored by VSA Arts, the premiere arts group in the US working with individuals with disabilities. Strengthening our partnership with Combined Efforts Theatre, the local theater group working with individuals of all abilities. We have hosted special programs, choir rehearsals and more with this group. This summer, the coffee house is filled with Combined Efforts youth rehearsing a summer show. Partnering with Access to Independence for a variety of activities, including a Tuesday afternoon arts group and a Thursday afternoon games group. Sponsoring a local TV show, “Hello Its Us.” Produced by our friends at PATV, the weekly program is designed to build abilities awareness. Joining with Family Folk Machine for monthly Community Folk Singing Providing meeting space for a variety of community groups, including an average of 10 support group meetings every week. Offering more than 100 nights a year of live music open to all Hosting weekly Open Mic Nights for people of all abilities to showcase their talents. BUT theres more, much more. Extend the Dream has also: Spun off Micks Workshop as a separate business (plus sold his house and workshop to an organization working with him). Received FCC approval to operate a 1,000 watt community radio station. Created our own video channel on You Tube. Youll find over 70 short films showcasing Extend the Dream and Uptown Bills events and activities. A donation of $35 or $50 or more helps support these activities and so many others.
