YOUR UPLOOK DETERMINES YOUR OUTLOOK HILLSIDE HELPS: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7a) The Christian endures hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. The trials and troubles we go through serve a very important purpose in our growth as Christians. As clay is the hand of the potter, so are we in His hand. He takes what is a shapeless mass of human clay, then forms and finishes it to become a vessel of honor. The ultimate goal is to prepare us for deeper and greater things. While some will kick and buck about having to go through trials, others understand that sanctification is a long and troubling process. If we could only see every experience through the eyes and heart of a loving Father, who knows whats best. His full knowledge joined with His limitless power make it possible for saints to be conformed to the image of Christ, His son. The process is not a yellow brick road experience, whereby we just skip along always singing and picking flowers along the way. The real Christian experience includes a unique blend of circumstances where the bad is mixed with the good, mountains are mixed with valleys, and the cloudy days are mixed with days of bright sunshine. Yet, so many who claim Christ as their Lord, want to avoid the struggles. Younger people want today what took us many years of hard work to finally attain There can be no song from the brook if the rocks are removed. There will no rainbows unless the clouds brought rain. There would be no flowers in the spring had the rain held off. There can be no gain in life without a certain amount of pain that comes from hard work and long days. We have a choice to make, child of God. We can have the attitude of Jacob as seen recorded in Gen. 42:36 where he stated, all these things are against me, meaning the world is caving in around me, no one loves me, why has God done this to me?. The more commendable attitude is that of Paul, who in Romans 8:28 declared, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to his purpose”. This means, that no matter what is happening, it is all a part of Gods greater purpose and is for my good. The choice is yours. You can grieve, gripe, and be pessimistic and bitter toward God. Or, you can, by faith, believe that the God who made you and saved you is right in the middle of every struggle you have and He will turn it from bad to good, in His time. Meanwhile wait and trust Him for He has proven through eternity to be trustworthy. (Bro Jerry McNeer) PLEASE SHARE
