YWorking with the late, great, composer/artist Eric Williamson was truly a privileged experience. Some of his compositions were so incredibly unique and original they would dumbfound me. I would have to invent synthetic modes to solo over the measures he wanted me to track on. It definitely made me better at improvisational thinking. Some compositions were simple solid metal and some were hauntingly strange epics that twisted and turned through surreal mindscapes. He was a true composer of the highest creative caliber. Most of the contemporary slop that passes for music nowdays doesant even come close. I never met Mozart but this must have been close. I would listen to the play backs of my solos against the strange chordal tapestries in wonder and marvel at its fascinating originality. On top of that he was an incredibly talented abstract sketch artist, lyricist, guitarist and vocalist.
