Ya know, I have to say..., I never got it when people talk about musicians and the music community etc.. Back in the day when I was really going for it we hated everyone else. We were hyper focused on making it and we didnt pal around with other bands for the most part. We viewed everyone else as competition and of lesser quality as well. They were in the way of our dreams coming true and wed be damned if we were going to support or encourage them. So, I was relieved to hear Boy George say basically the same thing about Culture Club and other bands back then. Also, most bands hate their fans. They always want them to be cooler, smarter and better looking than they are. Musicians operate from a place of self-loathing and/or insecurity so its sorta hard to have any interest in some stranger who likes you more than you like yourself.
