Ya know, as i sit back and watch the world and social media about children and parenting, i often wonder who deep down inside is honestly overjoyed about being a parent. So many people will sit there and say they love their child and it may look like they do, but behind closed doors its another story. I am elated to be the father of my little girl and would give my life for her happiness, im tickled everytime she smiles and giggles at me or wants to hold my finger or grip onto my shirt and not let go. Part of me is overjoyed about the fact of being unemployed because i get to spend these precious moments with her, but in the back of my mind i always worry if im doing this or that right. Or if 6 months from now we will still be okay. And we will be okay. Not many parents are together and raising their child together, but i am grateful that i have a loving and caring girlfriend that is by my side everyday as we help each other along the way. There can be a million parents in this world, but being partners as well as a mother and father is completely different from being a parent. Anybody can be a parent. Its when you go above and beyond and sacrifice the things you love for the ones you love that you come to the realization that life is much more than just the things we want. I am a proud father and wouldnt change it for the world, and having a loving girlfriend and mother makes the moments that much more cherishable. Remember to be not just a parent, but also a loving spouse, father and or mother. I love you Sam Jacklin
