Yaa Allal,Today, on this very special day, I bow my head and fold my hands in honor of my mother. You know her, even better than I. I know you listen as I come to you in thanks.Mom had the joy that only a mother can understand. That of feeling my first movement and my cry when I entered this world. She fed me day and night. She rocked me and held me tightly in her arms. She folded her hands and prayed, as she still continues to pray, during times of joy and during times of sadness.Mom worried about me when things didnt go right. But she was - and still is - the best coach a child could ever have. She quizzed, tested, pushed, listened to and guided me each and every day. I know she prayed that You would give her strength and courage to do what makes me the person I am today. She had a strong faith that things would get better, and she understood that the ups and downs of our lives are part of the journey Sometimes God, she was frazzled. No doubt, Id done something for the hundredth time and she could not get through to me that I was on the wrong path. Thank you Father for touching moms shoulder, giving her the encouragement and ability to follow through as needed.I remember, so well, her smile and the special look on her face when I did something well. Still today, I want to see that special look.I admire my mom for all the work she did with little complaint. She went without so I could have what I needed.Mom taught me about many things.Whether it was about nature, how to cook or make a bed, how to write my name or drive a car, she was there. She took me to mosque and she prayed with me. She taught me to dig in the dirt and the love of watching those little seeds grow into large and lovely plants. She taught me how to love and care for others. Now I begin to help mom do some things. The role is changing. I ask you Father to lead and guide me as you did my mother.Bless each of us as we gather and pray today in honor of a very special person in our lives........Happy Edil Mubarak
