Yahya Jammeh To Commission A New TV Called "MAALEGEN TV" Meaning In English "TRUTH TV." Yahya Jammeh To Commission A New TV Called "MAALEGEN TV" Meaning In English "TRUTH TV." Yahya Jammeh is not yet done in his quest to monopolize Gambia’s media industry. Jammeh can now be regarded as Africa’s first President Media mogul. He is not satisfied with the daily indoctrination propaganda spearheaded by his GRTS radio and television services. In addition to GRTS, Jammeh is going to commission a new television station in coming weeks called in Jolla "MAALEGEN TV" meaning in English TRUTH TV. The new TV channel is housed at the Futurelec Building. Jammeh seized the building from a Guinean businessman investor one Muhammed Sillah. Mr. Sillah used to be the proprietor of Air Guinea International. Mr. Sillah is one of the richest businessmen in Guinea. He is a former close friend of the late Guinean President Alasana Conteh. Mr. Sillah spent over fifty million dalasi to erect the multi space office building. The building was built by Wright Construction. It is an eight storey building. Yahya Jammeh met Mr. Sillah during his past visits to Guinea, where he invited Sillah to invest in the Gambia. Mr. Sillah responded to Jammeh’s invitation and was treated as a "special guest" of Jammeh during a visit to Banjul. Mr. Sillah invested his money in the Gambia without weighing the economic and legal ramifications associated with investment in the West African country. He ended up becoming a victim, as Jammeh uses the corrupt legal system to steal his investments. It is imperative to note that part of Mr. Sillah’s building was leased to Gambia National Petroleum. The Ministry of Energy was also a tenant of Mr. Sillah. Both institutions owed rent money to Mr. Sillah. Sillah has made repeated attempts to pursue his unpaid rents from his tenants without success. His attorney has sent out demand letters on his behalf to recover the unpaid rent money owed to him by his tenants, but without much success. Yahya Jammeh was also indebted to Mr. Sillah. Jammeh owed him money in respect to palm oil, groundnut etc. supplied to him by businessman Sillah. Jammeh refused to pay Mr. Sillah his money. It was during the process of trying to recover his money from Yahya Jammeh, The Gambia national Petroleum and the Ministry of Energy that Jammeh became pissed off with him. Jammeh then instructed the Ministry of Justice to press bogus charges against the Guinean investor. Mr. Sillah was allegedly found guilty by the courts. His properties were auctioned by Pa Harry Jammeh, the former Sheriff of the High Court. Guess who bought his properties including the multimillion dalasi building? Yahya Jammeh bought the building. Jammeh uses his Kanilai Group International business firm to buy the property at a giveaway price during a so called auction sale spearheaded by his cousin Pa Harry Jammeh. Jammeh started giving problems to Mr. Sillah shortly after the demise of President Alasana Conteh. Jammeh robbed him off his properties and was left with no option but to leave the Gambia. Investment in the Gambia is a risky venture. There are thousands of the likes of Muhammed Sillah, who are victims of Jammeh daylight robbery. "MAALEGEN TV" known as “TRUTH TV” is housed in a stolen property. We have gathered that Jammeh wants to use the MAALEGEN TV to compel local businesses to advertise with the station. MAALEGEN TV is now going to be competing with GRTS. A source, who earlier reached us said the new Jammeh TV is called “Allihamdudillahi TV,” but another source privy to the project said the official name for the Jammeh TV is “MAALEGEN TV” MEANING “TRUTH TV.” MAALEGEN TV has started testing its operational signals. Some old guard GRTS staff are struggling to be hired to head the new TV station. A source said Fatou Camara, the newly hired Director of Press is among those listed as possible candidates to oversee the station. She is likely to oversee the hiring process, a source hinted.
