Print ticket Export Tell a friend Share Saturday, April 5, 2014 8:00 AM Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park 1200 South Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne, FL (map) Lets go fishing! Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is the home of a historic Lighthouse built in 1825 and reconstructed in 1846, is the oldest standing structure in Miami. 1200 S. Crandon Boulevard Key Biscayne, Florida 33149 (305) 361-5811 The Kayak Launch is from the beach, so a KAYAK TROLLEY CART it’s a MUST. If you don’t have one, you may ask any of the Members to help you take your kayak over to the launching area on the beach, located about 200 away from the parking lot. Well try the area around the Light House and may go (depending of the wind conditions) as far as the boat channel on the other side. This area holds a variety of fish such as Snook (next to the sidewalls) Trout, Snapper, Grouper, Jacks, and Bluefish. The Kayak Launch is located at the 1st beach, so as soon you enter the park make a left and a second left towards the Kayak/ Canoe parking lot. You can ask the park ranger at the entrance for directions. Park opens at 8 am; the parking lot gets full quickly during the weekends, so I suggest you arrive early. As always: Dont forget your fishing license, PFD, Whistle or horn, lots of water, snacks and sun block. Please Note: Park resource managers and Marine life law enforcement rangers frequently interview visitors fishing in the park to assess their catch, so please remember to measure your catch against current state fishing regulations. This event date is subject to change, if weather conditions are unfavorable. Entrance to Key Biscayne $4.00 per 1 occupant or $8.00 per 2+ Park Entrance Fees: Single occupant $4.00 2-8 person vehicle $8.00
