Yall, I cant even express IN WORDS how proud I am of Shawn Hopkins, but I will try. See, when we began dating, he wasnt going to church (although he knew God), serving, or being a part of community. I have prayed since we began dating for him to find a relationship with Jesus. The day of his surgery was the hardest day of both of our lives, preceded by a very rough 2 years of marriage. We have fought so hard for our marriage, as his chronic pain turned him into a monster. We did marriage counseling; hes spend the night in a hotel before, not knowing if Id let him back. But he hit rock bottom on Tuesday (read his post below- it will make you cry tears of joy). Since then, we have a whole new AIR to our marriage; an air of truth and strength and peace. The day he was discharged, I noticed that he added journal to my Wal-Mart list. He woke me up, today, in tears, because he had just experiences his FIRST quiet time with GOD and it blew him away. He asked me to read his conversation with Him (journal). He said I could share this, so please read it. Then, read the verse that God told him to read here: https://biblegateway/passage/?search=psalm+41&version=NIV. Now, Shawn doesnt know the Bible. There is NO way he could have known to go to this. Read it and be amazed! Then, as I come home from church, I see my humble husband walking down the road with his walker. I asked him to map his walk back. Five days after a double back infusion, my husband walked (willingly) over a mile!!! God is SOOOOO amazing. Dont miss your shot, guys. God, Jesus, the Bible- they are all REAL and RELEVANT today. They SAVE us and make our lives WHOLE. What else do you have to loose?!
