Yall aint going to believe this BUT>> You have seen the picture of my head all banged up. In explaining this I will not use big words that I can not spell so some of yall will have to dumb your self down to understand. I deer hunt ; before you get your stinger out on animal rights or all that other stuff . I enjoy the planning, the set up of stands , the planting of food plots, and the work that goes into the first day of the season. This past week I decided to move one of my leaning tree stands to a different location in the woods. The stand is about 25 feet tall. I secured the bottom feet in the ground, I then secured the second stage of the stand; then worked my way to the third stage of stand and secured. Now this where it gets a little bumpy. I climbed to the top to put the final ratchet strap on the back of stand that completes the process. It was at this time something happened Not sure how or what happened but the stand started to fall the my left I scrambled to hang on a large limb on my right . Next thing I know I am banging into the ground. HEAD FIRST. I lay there for some time flopping around like a fish out of water as I had knocked the breath out of me. Finally I was able to grab air. I am blessed to be able to control my emotions I did not panic. I lay on the ground trying to get my eyes to focus All I can see is blur an more blur. I crawl up on all fours, shake my head, and reach for my head. No blood that is a good thing. Maybe?? Shoulder is hurting I move it No bones sticking out and it moves. Good. Maybe?? I always take my phone with me but usually there is no signal where I am in the woods. I called my son and said could you get the four wheeler and come get me There is that tone that dads sons moms and daughters have when we are serious. I heard him coming thru the woods. He helped me to my feet. I was still a little goofy He made a comment about me and old an some thing else. I did not listen. When we got to his house he and Holly rapped my head with ice a towel and an ace bandage I sat and drank water and cooled down. I drove my self home Sherrie met me at the door I saw my head later in the mirror I was lucky to have not been hurt I am always safe in the woods or on the water when fishing. I think I was very lucky to come away with only a big bruise on my head. Stay safe
