Yall know I dont post these things lightly, so please listen this time in the whirlwind of other Facebook news. One of Jessicas good friends from high school is a missionary with her family in Uganda. They were in an awful car wreck recently that killed their one-month-old, and severely injured the Mom (Etta, Jessicas friend), and Dad. They need financial support for a medical evacuation. Etta had both femurs broken (one broken femur is life threatening...) and quite a number other smaller broken bones. She needs more surgery, but her blood volume is too low at the moment. Unfortunately, Uganda doesnt have the blood banking capabilities we are accustomed to in other developed countries. At the link, you may donate cash (forgive the bald request, please), or offer words of encouragement. The $50,000 goal likely wont even cover the air-evac and surgeries for Etta alone. They still have to pay for treatments for the rest of the family, and lay their kid to rest. Please pass this note along. I know there are a lot of lawyers, doctors, nurses, and CRNAs in my friend list. If yall dont feel like donating, then please at least pass the link along and give them a word of encouragement. Giveforward is not a 501(c)(3), but it does have a 100/100 webutation rating. There is a fee to donate (still less than most state state taxes), but at this point, this is the best avenue to donate directly to the family.
