Yaquina Bay Road Closure Lincoln County Sheriffs Deputies and the Oregon State Police are currently investigating a single vehicle traffic crash on Yaquina Bay Road near Milepost 4.2, east of Newport, Oregon. Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2008 Mitsubishi Galant sedan was traveling westbound on Yaquina Bay Road when it left the roadway striking a utility pole before coming to rest in a slough at the location. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was uninjured and able to exit the vehicle on her own. **Crews are currently on scene working to replace the utility pole. According to investigators, Yaquina Bay Road is expected to be completely closed for approximately six hours while repairs are made. Specifically for commuters and residents in the area, the location of the road closure is described as just west of the Davis Road intersection. The suggested alternate route is US Highway 20.** More details will be released in a subsequent news release once the investigation is complete.
