Ye must be born again… John 3:1-15 The following narrative is between Nicodemus, a religious ruler of the Pharisees and the LORD Jesus Christ regarding the subject: “Ye must be born again…” (1) There was a man of the Pharisees (This was religious Jewish sect of Jesus days.), named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: (2) The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi (teacher), we know (This was to know intellectually, without a heart acceptance.) that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. (3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily (In other words, I really mean this.), I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (This is to be spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally born of God.), he cannot see (perceive) the kingdom of God (The phrase kingdom of God is mention only in the NT and used 69 time. It appears to primarily denote the general spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural realm of God’s eternal existence, whether on earth or heaven.). (4) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mothers womb, and be born? (Nicodemus was confused regarding what Jesus was teaching, for he thought Jesus was speaking of a physical birth when he said “ye must be born again.”) (5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (Contextually, this phrase born of water seems to be referencing being born of flesh in the next verse. The Human body is greatly made up of water at about 70 percent. Therefore, born of water appears to be referencing being physically born.) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (This verse is emphasizing that a person must be both physical born and spiritually born to experience the spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural reality of God’s eternal existence.). (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (8) The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit (Being born of the Spirit is somewhat mystical, but nevertheless it is marvelous and mandated to be eternally saved.). (9) Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? (10) Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? (11) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. (12) If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? (13) And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up (Jesus is referencing an OT salvation event to illustrate that He would be hung a tree at Calvary, for the sins of the world.): (15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (Being born again is a matter of believing in Jesus Christ, as one’s Savior, God, and LORD, according to the Scriptures. If one truly believes as such, they receive the gift of eternal life, which begins the moment they are saved through a spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural relationship, by faith, with Sovereign God the Father and the Savior LORD Jesus Christ; as well as it continues to unfold through our eternal existence with LORD Jesus Christ in the next life.) Have you been born again? In other words, have you received, by faith, the resurrected LORD Jesus Christ into your life, the one who died on the cross and shed His precious blood, for your sins? If not, right now repent towards God and receive, by faith, the resurrected LORD Jesus Christ into your life, by asking Him to come in as your Savior, Sovereign God, and Supreme LORD, as you seek to follow Him, by faith, according to the teachings of the Scripture. Let us know if you make a decision through reading this post to be saved, by repentance (a change of mind-heart) towards God of anything the might hinder your salvation and you receive the resurrected LORD Jesus Christ into your life, into your heart, by faith… If this writing has been a blessing to you PLEASE REPOST IT, so it might be a blessing to others.
