Yeah..... Saw that 12 years a slave the other night. Came out really not liking white people, and really hearing the southern draw a little differently. Why do we still need or appreciate acknowledgement from a acting guild who obviously still cater to the white prejudices of American movie industry ? The woman is gorgeous even in make up as a suffering slave. But she gets recognized as a brilliant supporting actor when she is humiliated on screen by being raped and abused........REPEATEDLY PEOPLE ! Little Halle Berry got recognition when she played a whore on Screen, and showed her breasts. People then ask me why I havent tried to sell my movie idea / script to Hollywood. I will continue to struggle with my story. A Story that shows us Caribbean people, our Caribbean women in a positive and REAL life. Well see just what we think of our selves as black people form the Caribbean.
