Year 2+Day 329: I know Tyrel has been staying home by himself more and more but for some reason it seems like a new feat when he stayed home for the first part of the day while I was in class. I texted him several times to check on him and his responses were candid to say the least. For me, his candid responses are a great indication that he is doing well physical and emotionally! A funny conversation from tonight as Tyrel was getting ready for the shower. Me: Can you give me all your darks so I can wash them? T: Sure (as he backs away from the hamper). Me: Do you need help? T: No, I want to do it myself ...he proceeds to take his shoes off and notices one shoe is untied while the other is not. He looks up with a disgruntled face... T: I thought I untied both my shoes but apparently Ive lost my mind (Laughing hysterically). Im cuckoo brain (laughing till he cant breathe) It seems like such a simple conversation but his last statement is proof of his original thought process. So many of his thoughts/conversations are repetitive. His thoughts are finally evolving into more than things he hears from other people. On a typical day, we may have the same conversation 18/20 times...just part of his TBI. To hear new statements out of his mouth is refreshing and exciting. Small, but highly important milestones!!! Thank you Jesus!!!
