Year 2+Day 347: As planned, Tyrel woke up early to continue his mowing. I have to say, Tyrel was quite impressive today. I was still riding horses when he first woke up. He came out and started rinsing the horses I had already ridden. Not only did he rinse them but he was taking them back to the trailer about 100 yards away. This is no easy task because he has to get his wheelchair through the grass and it requires every ounce of movement and energy he has. But he did it!! And he did it with a smile! After all that, he got on the lawn mower and mowed until I made him stop. It was HOT outside today and he was drenched in sweat. He didnt complain, he didnt get frustrated, he just plugged away! Hes not quite finished but it didnt want him to overheat more than he already had. He showered and ate a huge lunch when we came inside. And he opted out of going to the barrel race with me tonight. Cant say I blame him, I had to talk myself into going! Even the horses gave me the look. Anyway, he was safe and sound when I got home. He even kept his phone with him so I didnt have a panic attack :). Im so proud of him for keeping his mind and thoughts healthier since we talked yesterday. Its a constant battle that we all fight daily. For Tyrel, there are a few added challenges and he is amazingly strong to overcome them all. I would like to send out a prayer to a friend who lost her son. He was a brain injury survivor and she was his dedicated caretaker and mother. My heart breaks for her because I know the fear we live with every day. The fear of our loved ones having yet another accident that they cannot recover from is constantly on our minds. The one thing I know and strive for every day, as she did, is to make every day as special as possible for these patients who give their heart and soul to succeed at life. She did this for her son day in and day out. I admire her strength, compassion, and dedication. She definitely made her sons life better given the circumstances. I pray that her pain eases with time. God bless you my friend! Find comfort in His everlasting love!!!
