Year 2+Day 352: Gosh there are times when Tyrels progress just jumps up and smacks me in the face! Ive learned that progress is gradual with brain injury patients...and by gradual I mean there are times when you just dont realize it right away. Two things dawned on me this week: 1) He hasnt gotten up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom in close to 2 months 2) He hasnt taken a daytime nap in quite some time Even with our long and exhausting days he is keeping himself awake throughout the day. These are both great accomplishments for him!! He proves every day how important determination is! We played some cards this morning and for once I won. This is quite a feat when you are playing Tyrel!! He had his best sense of humor on today too. It is touching to see him so full of laughter. That quick wit of his is very functional! He gets to get out and do some fun things this weekend. He has a guy day tomorrow. He cant wait to stir up some trouble :). I will keep you all posted as to how he fairs in his trouble making endeavors. Tyrel has never been a big FaceBooker but I keep him updated on all of your encouraging words and support. He asked me to thank you all and know that for every prayer you say for him, he says one for you. We are both so very grateful for the love and support you provide...some days it is the only thing that gets us through the hard times. So from both of us...THANK YOU!!!!
