Year 2025 @ Tri-Cities of Waterloo County-Thing Past and Present Picture 1 - rare photo of a Canada Post Office, Waterloo, Ontario ca.1969 Picture 2 - aging Letter Carrier, note they had been known to deliver in all weather conditions ie rain, snow, and sunshine before global warming changed Canada into a tropical climate. Picture 3 - antiquated fossil fuel burning vehicles used to deliver parcels, mail bags, often seen parked illegally in those ancient times. Picture 4 - rare stamps that were used on envelopes now valuable to collectors, and senile baby boomers longing for the old days. Picture 5 - a mailbox was often a common device used by home owners to contain letters, and flyers (often referred to as junk mail. Picture 6 - Striking postal workers was a method used to negotiate new contracts with the government or locked out by said government in those days when neither side could come to terms. Picture 7 - last attempt by Canadian government to cut costs by hiring contractors to deliver mail to neighborhood group boxes but rarely used in our time (2025) due to high postage rates, obsolete sorting centers, and reliable contractors willing to work for little.
