Yes, God Bless America. Dear Lord bring her back to the nation we once knew....or thought we knew. Bless the troops, but free us from the profiteers who orchestrate wars. The Marine Corps for me was bitter/sweet and looking back seeing in contrast to LBJ, I love JFK who tried to prevent war in VietNam. In all US military history, my favorite warrior is Marine Gen. Smedley Butler, two time winner of Medal of Honor, who spoke from his heart about war...even wrote a short to-the-point book. Herewith, key summary in Gen. Butlers words: War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes. Georgia, Let us continue praying for our fighting men and pray for good leaders....not scoundrels to squander them in their own selfish pursuits.
