Yes, a lot is being said about police brutality and shootings in the black community and some feel that we should be more upset about black on black crime in our neighborhoods. We should be concerned about both. It has been a priority in my life to make changes in my community to stop the violence between, and incarceration of our young black men. We have very little chance of making big differences until the guns are not off loaded into our community for our young people to use against one another. It is too easy for our young people to put their hands on guns. Early intervention, before the age of sixteen, is also a needed resource to help stop the violence in our community. We need to have programs and opportunities available for our youth. It is not much that we can say to complain about the problem, unless we are part of the solution.
