Yes, people periodically tell me I need to lighten up and tell more jokes via social-media. It is good that people tell me that; we all need to show our smile and our joy more. Meanwhile, my social-media persona is somewhat intentionally controversial. If I passed out candy and popcorn all day long, people would have nothing to talk about. So yes, we must be balanced, we cant be too moralist nor talk too much about hell and damnation. Im wiling (and called) to tackle tough topics; not too soft, not too hard. As I read the saints and the bible, those folks dont seem fluffy. We need challenged, supported by the Church. The Good Shepherd is perfectly gentle, perfectly strong.
