Yesterday I experienced my own personal Holiday miracle thanks to the kindness and honesty of a stranger that I will never get to meet or thank... On the way down for a fun day in New York City with my best friend Karen to see The Rachael Ray Show and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree we stopped at the Ramapo Thruway rest stop. I had just taken my rings (wedding and 10-year anniversary bands) off to put lotion on, and must have forgotten to put them back on before stepping out of the car to go in so they fell to the ground. I did not realize they were gone until we had crossed the GW bridge into the city! I was very upset, searching the entire car 3 times, but trying hard not to let it bring me down, as this was supposed to be a fun day in the city. My wonderful husband Damon was texting me and being so kind about the whole thing, trying to make sure that I knew that the rings dont mean as much as our love and marriage (even though it didnt help me feel that much better). I was so sure they were gone, I dropped them and someone had found them and decided to have an extra special Christmas... While we were waiting in the audience room Karens boyfriend, Georgie, thought to give the rest stop a call just to see if someone had turned them in. Right before we were to go in to the show set Karen got a text saying that the RINGS HAD BEEN FOUND! They were at the Ramapo rest stop which meant that we could stop at the Sloatsburg Rest stop on the northward bound side of the thruway on the way home and cross over the highway in the pedestrian walkway bridge to get them. I probably would have thought to call today, but that could have been too late, and then I would have had to drive all he way down there just to get them, which of course would have been totally worth it, but Thanks to George, I didnt have to do that and my rings are safe again on my finger to represent the 11+ years I have spent with my love. So thank you to the manager at the McDonalds in the Ramapo Rest stop, and thank you to George for calling them, and thank you to Karen and Damon for trying so hard to make me feel better about the whole thing, and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the stranger that found them and turned them in!!!
