Yesterday I had a really tough workout planned, but I was feeling soft and sweet and totally intimidated by the idea of those 10 sets of heavy squats. I told that to Kyle (another trainer), and he said You need to summon the alpha version of yourself to come take care of this workout for you. You might not be able to do it, but Alpha Jessi sure as hell can. Get HER in here. This is probably the single greatest workout advice Ive ever been given and I had to share. Because the thing is we ALL have so many sides of ourselves. Emotional Jessi just wanted to have deep conversation and hug people, so I had to bench her for an hour and call Alpha Jessi to come handle the workout. Both are me, but one of them would have been far less successful for the task at hand. (By the way, Alpha Jessi totally crushed it.) Do you know which side of yourself is showing up? Which version of yourself are you right now, and which one do you need?
