Yesterday I had the honor of presenting Warrior Canine Connection with the 2014 Montgomery County Schaefer Helping People Award for their incredible work training therapy dogs to provide non-pharmaceutical treatment to our returning troops and I had the privilege to tour The Madison House in Brookeville with Sandy and Duane Heiler, 200 years after President Madison stayed there after fleeing Washington during the War of 1812. Add that to roundtable discussions with members of the Baltimore-Washington Corridor and Olney Chambers about the economic challenges and opportunities facing Maryland families and small businesses and you can understand why I feel so fortunate to serve in my dream job, as Marylands Comptroller.
