Yesterday I had the the pleasure to meet with Nicole Cretella Burke and make a new friend in Brian Thomas 2 remarkable people who balance family, work, and sacrifice a lot to make outrun as special as it is! I learned the timeline for outrun on how it started and the depth of Lizs battle with CF. Naturally I felt a lot of emotion and inspiration which is what fueled my motivation for my first road race and 5k. That day I went to the church did a light jog and walk to ease the the nerves. When I left I was on the bridge on the course at a stop and I saw a car at a stop also and I waved for them to go through and I hear the horn and yeah ned! and it was Liz herself and I thought what great irony! Today was incredible day I did my first 5k no stopping and surprised myself! Saw family, friends and great people I havnt seen in a long time! Nothing felt better than giving the effort to help Liz and CF! I now have a yearly tradition which will the outrun 5k thanks outrun what great experience! Liz your an amazing inspiration!
