Yesterday I learned that the leading pop Scientist with a very large following mister Neil deGrasse Tyson came out with Support of GMOs. Whatever your stance on the issue, I became depressed because I knew this would affect the environment and animals dramatically. How? Are GMO good or bad? is debatable what isnt is the companies that use GMOs and supply it to the major chain Grocery retailers which are filled with factory farmers that use GMO crops to feed enslaved animals with pesticides and other dangerous chemicals/hormones who are later slain and given for food, (which in my opinion a dead animal isnt food, its murder and should be called as such) Anyhow, GMO foods go beyond simply food, its an industry a living breathing trillion dollar corporation which according to our government are people now? But thats another story.. These industries are abusing workers with slave labor, Eco systems are destroyed with a lack of bio diversity and replaced with artificial stagnant patented crops with no diversity, leaving environments desolate and at risk for disease, animals are destroyed, wiped out oppressed, and unnaturally modified in cruel and unusual ways. And I thought it was so irresponsible for Mr. NDT to come out in support of GMOs without taking into consideration the other impacts of the industry behind it. Because of his influence, thousands of his zealot supporters are on a pro GMO kick in the name of science because anything NDT endorses has to be right to them? Its like hes become the God of reason and anything he says is factual, and without flaw. Whatever your opinion of GMOs its clear that the industry behind the practice is dangerous to human workers Animals, and the people that are consuming and supporting these megalithic companies, while bio diversity and farmers are left to side and unsupported. Im depressed because this is yet another obstacle that needs to be overcome for the liberation not only of humans, but most importantly animals! in short: If the voices of reason in our culture condone the abuse of animals and environment and use science to justify it, What does the future of the world look like? Not only for us, but for the most helpless the animals?
