Yesterday, I lost my friend and student to a car accident. For me, she tripled the happy and divided the sad and that is why I will miss her so much. She rode great in her last lesson and was so excited for the future. The sound of our high five keeps ringing in my ear....the sound of her laugh will be missed by all the horses. In our last conversation, we told each other how much we appreciated one another, the smell of horses, riding boots, chap stick and new hairnets. Through all the years of helping me with camps, pony rides and horse shows, she always cared more about being kind than being right. Im grateful she was in my life and I know she knew I loved her. It feels good to let go without regret but it hurts to know that I will never be the same person without her. I miss her so much.
