Yesterday I posted an article concerning my views on the tragic Charlie Hebdo shootings. As long as I post articles on FB, I stand by my responsibility of being an informed citizen. I was met with challenging rhetoric which prompted me to delete all articles and posts concerning this tragedy and my thoughts behind such. Consequently, I couldnt quite shake my initial instinct and spent the greater part of my evening educating myself. Up until midnight (which is drastically late for me) I scoured article upon article looking to understand a larger body of cause & effect and power dynamics. In my opinion, this is not an attack on freedom of speech in which the media has slanted toward the public. While I feel conflicted as this is not a simple matter, I do not condone murder. Murder is murder is murder. But I certainly beg your pardon if you feel this was murder on behalf of free speech.
