Yesterday I posted some info for compers to be aware of when thinking of entering The National Lottery s latest twitter competition. A point in their terms and conditions regarding serial compers: The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry to serial competition entrants. The Promoter will have ultimate and final say on who fits those criteria, but as a rule, anyone with over 50% of their Twitter communications as entries into competitions may face disqualification. The Promoters decision is final. I have tweeted with some questions and would love some answers to things like: Why this has been put into their terms and conditons What about Compers who are also customers and buy lottery tickets and/or scratchcards How this will be enforced Over what period of time they will look at to judge the 50% What the criteria is exactly for a serial comper It does all seem very odd to me seeing as their products are solely aimed at those who love to win - so doesnt that make most of their customers in theory compers? They also have a facebook competition running that has no compers clause which again seems odd as surely theyd want to exclude serial compers from their facebook competition as well OR if they are allowing compers to enter their facebook competition - to allow them to enter their twitter competition as well?? So far I have had no reply to my tweets to @TNLUK and have also phoned them and unfortunately as no-one could take my call I have left my details for a call back. As I have so many questions and it is such an unusual term and condition I have also contacted the IPM for advice and am expecting a call back at some point today. I must say the lady I spoke to from the IPM seemed quite puzzled also and said it was the first time she had seen anything like this. I will keep you all updated.
