Yesterday I ran the 12th annual Santa Scramble 5k in Concord for the first time. The race starts in historic downtown Concord and finishes at the Cabarrus County Senior Center. Its unique that it starts off the annual Christmas parade and goes along the parade route for most of the race. Hundreds of spectators lined the streets to cheer us on. Its a flat fast course with a nice downhill on the last mile. I finished in 20:49 crushing my PR by 1:08. My avg mile time was 6:44. Two weeks ago I beat the 22 minute barrier for the very first time. I was blown away and excited to be able to cross over the 21 minute threshold in such a short period of time. I finished 56th of 551 participants and 6th in my AG (competitive field).
