Yesterday, I spent eight solid hours de-decorating the house from Halloween. Im still not done cleaning. (The dust bunnies I allowed to colonize my stairs to increase haunted house verisimilitude among the purposefully placed fake cobwebs, for instance, were so dense and abundant, they clogged my Dust Buster twice!) I put on over 12,000 steps just taking down junk! Argh! I had to do it, though, since the day before I allowed myself to do next to NOTHING! Yes, I raked the front yard and walked the dogs, but besides that all I did was watch an embarrassing amount of TV! I needed that down time so badly. It feels good to almost have my world back in some semblance of order. Im not a clean freak by any means, but I cant stand having undones hanging over my head all the time. They siphon off mental energy even as I work to avoid them. I also cant stand leaving up holiday decorations for eons past the holiday in question. At least I wised up and decorate for the entire month now. I used to do that decorating a day before my party for 100 people and tear it down the day after. Talk about crazy!
