Yesterday I was proud to stand with Governor Beshear at the massive new Jim Beam warehouse off of 421 to release the impact study of the bourbon industry on Kentucky. Good news for the people of our district: Kentucky’s signature Bourbon industry has nearly doubled the size of its workforce in the last two years, tripled the number of distilleries and set major new benchmarks for payroll, tax revenue, exports and barrel inventories. Bourbon crafted and aged in the 56th District has been a key part of the recent Bourbon boom creating quality Kentucky jobs and attracting tourists from all over the world. We are seeing economic revitalization in communities like Millville - the proud home of fine bourbon for generations. I am proud to support our Bourbon industry and to sponsor key legislation to repeal the barrel tax. I will continue to promote and support new distilleries coming online, expansions for our distilleries like Woodford, Beam and others, and making the 56th District the heart of the Bourbon Capitol of the World.
