Yesterday I watched my beautiful wife undergo a medical procedure - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I watched my beautiful wife undergo a medical procedure that is supposed to help relieve some of the pain that she suffers with daily. When they came and got me to be with her in recovery she was in a lot of pain. I watched, helplessly as she twisted in the grips of this burning, relentless pain. I sat there praying asking my Jesus to reach down and touch her, comfort her and to relieve some of the pain. I would have loved it if she would have immediately been pain free but she wasn’t. Did I get mad at Him? Nope. Why would I? Shelly and I both know that God works in His own time, in His own way to accomplish His will in our lives and we’re ok with that. That’s not to say that at times, we wouldn’t rather things be working a little different but we trust Him. We trust Him because we know He is as good as His Word. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. We try not to let ourselves get lost in despair when things are not going our way. We try to hold onto the truths of God’s Holy Word like this one… Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Yes, sometimes it’s hard but it’s faith that gets the Believer through the darkness that the world would wrap us into. It’s faith that allows us to stand when it seems that everything is falling down around us. Something we have learned and will continue to learn is that this life is but the blink of an eye and the true reality is our Eternal God and our relationship with Him. Everything we are, do or say comes from that. Its that relationship that entitles us to be called Children of God. The world bombards us with lies, deceit and deception constantly and the only way to deal with it is through that faith relationship. I know there are those out there this morning who are hurting, physically, mentally and spiritually. I have something to offer you this morning. I have hope and you can have it too. I know exactly how it feels to have been beaten down but I also know how it feels to be lifted up by the hand of my Savior, Jesus. Some of you are sitting there thinking things like “I did pray and nothing happened” or “where was He when I needed Him”. I want you to know that He was there and is there right now. No matter what your pain is from, He is aware of it. He is willing to help you but you have to let Him. However, God is not a magic wand that you wave over your problems and make everything better. God is real but it requires faith to have the living relationship. The word faith is used as a noun 227 times and as a verb 217 times in the New Testament. Seems to me that this indicates its importance. Faith is something that we grow by experience. That’s one of the reason why I had suggested you keep a prayer journal. It’s a great faith builder when you can go back and see the specific day you prayed for something and then look under it and see the day your prayer was answered and how it was answered. Jesus told us in Matthew 17:20 that “if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible”. I know who my God is. I know what He can do. I know He loves me. I know He is here with me. I want you to know it too. I would happy to talk to anyone about my faith in God. I love sharing what He has done in my life and as you grow in your faith you will learn to love it too. You send me a message with your phone number and I will call you or I will give you my number. We can start a private converstation of Facebook if you would like. I up for anything. I hope that you have the very best day of your life today and that others will see the light of Jesus in your eyes and that you might help them find the way to light up the darkness if their life. I love you.
