Yesterday I went for a skate and saw two things that I had never saw before on the streets of Lindenhurst. I moved here aged 5 and have walked to nearly every corner of Lindy. Just two blocks from the high school I found discarded drug paraphernalia, including a used needle, in several locations near my home. Beer cans, discarded cigarette packs, whole food mcds bags swirled around the earth. Im not dumb I know my area is in a state of decline. I was just amazed to see how much so. This comes from someone who was recently the victim of a robbery by an addict. My good friend Dennis Giordanos aunts house around the block was broken into shortly after my incident and the suspect was apprehended. Perhaps it is because I often drive that I didnt recognize all the signs and thats why yesterday still amazed me profoundly. Please help clean up Lindy so our towns next generation can have a fighting chance to fulfill their hopes and aspirations. We need to start rebeautification and clean up efforts STAT.
