Yesterday I went to collect my BIB for the charity run. Glad to see so many youths volunteering to do distribution of bibs/goody bags at shopping center. On a hot hazy Saturday, there r many nice movies to watch n it’s nice to see these youths choosing to spend time serving the community. The atmosphere was so energetic n vibrant. Last Wed, when I was at forum on Social Enterprise, I saw many youths sharing their ideas n dreams passionately to make Sgp n the world better- I felt so OLD !! Guess I felt encouraged bcos these youths were enthusiastic n upbeat abt what they r doing while the haze outside was causing lots of anxiety n negative energy/emotions. Yrs of effort by NYC, NVPC, SIF etc may hv helped these youths dream big abt how they can made a difference. Hope that this positive attitude of youths will remain with them for a long time n doesn’t decrease as age increases. The youths can make a difference – small or big n I believe Sgp/region/world can become better with their effort.
