Yesterday I went to the grocery store during a break from work. There is usually this homeless man peddling for cash on the corner. Hes been there for months. If I have any cash I usually give him like 5 bucks and hes always been really thankful and pleasant. Low and behold, who do I see when I reach the store? The same man except this time instead of a sign that read Homeless- please help he was holding up one of those big advertising Grand Opening signs advertising for the new Sushi restaurant that just opened up in the same plaza. When I got out of my car I walked over to him to say Hello. I said, I see you got a job! Congratulations! He looked at my with the biggest proudest smile!!! He said Yeah and theyre letting me sleep in the storage room too! I know its not much but its a start. I said, Well Im very proud of you. I gave him 20 bucks and said Merry Christmas! He was like Thank you so much! smiled and said Merry Christmas! It did my heart good to see that this homeless man is one that actually is trying to better his life and not scamming people. My point in all this is you never know..that homeless person you see just may be one like him and just needs a little help to get back on his feet....after all arent we our brothers keeper? Noone should have to go without food and shelter ever! Merry Christmas...restaurant dude
