Yesterday Jade recieved her Homecoming dress here at the house. Her and I spent about 8 hours going through dresses. She asked me to help her find a pretty one. Not only was I honored and flattered that she thinks enough of me to ask me to help her find a dress, I also realized after seeing her try it on that it is one step closer to me handing her to someone else someday. She is an amazingly beautiful girl, her heart is as big as they come and she carries an innocence about her that is like nothing I have ever seen, all while being street smart and tough when she needs to be. I was Looking at her standing there wearing that dress and she says daddy do you think he will like it? I am proud but my heart broke just a little and all I can do is pray that she gives herself to an amazing man someday and that she knows where to run when she needs a shoulder to lean on. Being a father is quite simply the scariest and most rewarding experience on this earth!
