Yesterday Saturday 20th September at CC Beach Bar Nadan Beach - TopicsExpress

Yesterday Saturday 20th September at CC Beach Bar Nadan Beach Khanom it was the 4th Annual BBQ on the beach and fun day for some the orphans of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Well what can I say it was such an amazing day. The organizing and preparation for this event are huge and I cannot imagine how much work that Charlie from Charlie’s Children’s Charities has put in. There was over 300 kilos of food cooked so the children had food whenever they felt like eating, which is all day ha-ha. Then all the activities for the children, the photos will tell the story. The Orphans came to Khanom by bus from Nakhon Si Thammarat which is about 90 kilometers away. They had a Police and motor bike escort the whole way and everyone was waiting along the road to welcome them. The very first thing to happen was they were all seated and given plate after plate of food and drinks. Then it was time for the Opening Ceremony. This was an important event as a representative from the Royal Palace was here to do the opening and stay the day to watch how things went etc. He is actually the Advisor to the Princess. Now I have to give Gary a plug here. A few days before hand Charlie said that the Advisor wanted some information he could include in his speech. Gary asked Charlie a few questions then virtually told us to leave him alone and not annoy. Within 15 minutes he had written up a speech and read it to us. Well what can I say it was fantastic and the ending made Charlie cry. It was later sent to the Advisors people who went through it etc etc. We assumed they would just use what they wanted. Well on the day we were all so amazed, the whole speech that Gary wrote was read in Thai then the Advisor to the Princess also read it in English. Absolutely nothing was changed. Well done Gary what a special moment!! After the Official opening the day was full on. There were Muay Thai displays, horse rides, banana boat rides, eating, long tail boat rides, sofa rides, eating, jumping castle, soccer, volley ball, face painting, eating, games, Dressage display, eating and so much more. Oh and did I mention how much eating the children did. The children had so much fun and when they left they were all presented with a huge bag full of presents. I am sure they all slept well that night, I know we did. We had such a fantastic day and we will definitely be at next year’s event which will be even bigger as Charlie wants to involve a girls orphanage as well. This will make the logistics even harder as the girls are in a different province. So look out everyone I am going to start a fund raiser much earlier this time and try to raise even more money for this fantastic event. So once again thank you to all my Facebook friends who donated and I think Charlie said we were his 2nd highest fundraisers, well done everyone for supporting Charlie’s Children’s Charities. Now to sort out all the photos, they are coming real soon :)
