Yesterday, Saturday 8th March we held our first coffee morning at Bradbury House Community Centre from 10-12am. I love these events. Not only do we get to provide a meeting place for the local community but we get to hear some amazing stories of things people do for their community. Annie for example, a quiet, delightful elderly lady who for the last 15 years has been knitting for premature babies at Tameside General Hospital. Or another elderly lady who bought some wicker baskets which she will fill with tissue paper and Easter Eggs for the Children on her street. Amazing people doing amazing things completely out of the limelight, totally altruistic. We invited Louise from Support our Soldiers and Janet from JDFR (type 1 diabetes) and Im sure they made lots of money and got more supporters too but we raised £100.43, making our total for the year so far £200.43. Thank you to everyone who attended the Coffee Morning and bought things off us. We couldnt do it without you :)
