Yesterday......after the vote by the general synod of the C of E, - TopicsExpress

Yesterday......after the vote by the general synod of the C of E, I found myself curious as to the thoughts of those members or affiliates of the ACNA concerning the vote outcome. Although not a member of any ACNA Facebook group, I discovered most were open groups and I could read the comments. Although I expected to find unhappiness, I was not prepared for the unleashing of extraordinary venom. The anger and bitterness was dumbfounding and much of it was directed at TEC as well as the C of E. I cannot downplay the enormous discontent displayed. The general consensus by most ( primarily ACNA clergy) was that as of yesterday, the Church of England ceased to be a Christian Church. I found myself to be overcome with profound sadness for these folks and it has continued to affect me today. My Episcopal parish split in 2005 and it was extremely painful for most. Over 700 members out of a parish numbering over 2000 left the church immediately following the opening procession on a beautiful September Sunday morning. The anger of those that left was overwhelming. Im not quite sure what Im attempting to say here except perhaps that there are thousands of perpetually angry, disillusioned, bitter and confused members and clergy of the ACNA that need our prayers. And while we in TEC continue to struggle over issues, we appear to be moving forward with profound joy and for that I am thankful.........
