Yesterday and today MedPAC held its January meeting and formally voted on two issues regarding hospice. MedPAC voted to recommend to Congress that the law be changed from a carve out to a carve in of hospice services for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. MedPAC also voted to recommend that hospice receive a zero market basket update for fiscal year 2015. These formal recommendations will be sent to Congress in the MedPAC March report. NHPCO and HAN will continue their engagement on these issues and keep you updated on any further developments.
