Yesterday and today the Powell River Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Dave Formosa, the six council members, and Regional District Chair Colin Palmer held meetings with Minister of Ferries Todd Stone and I can share that these meetings were very blunt in terms of the problems with the ferries, the need for immediate changes, the need to bring fares down, and to find solutions that work for our community. Im pleased to report that the minister listened, arrived informed, and committed to be accountable in working with us toward positive change, affordability, and sustainability. I am encouraged that our hard work is paying off, and we need to stay focused and constructive with our message.
