Yesterday at work I was at a checkout helping a cashier, when the mom being checked out asked her little boy to go and get something she forgot. The boy was small, maybe five. He didnt respond, I think he didnt hear her. Using an open palm strike (martial artists know what this is), she slammed him in the side of the head, knocking him to the floor so hard his head bounced. Then she stepped over him and went to get what she wanted. The other woman with them then bent over the boy, and said that was what he got for not listening and told him to get his dumb, *f*ing ass off the floor. He got up, sobbing, holding first one side of his face then the other. The older sister, maybe 6 or 7, just stood there, but you could see the pain in her eyes. Sadly, it is policy at every retail establishment Ive worked at to not get involved or you can lose your job. That and total shock and horror means they just paid and walked out without anyone saying anything to them. The child wasnt bleeding or badly hurt since he got up and was able to stand and walk, but I cant get this out of my head!
